​The Government of Pakistan has introduced a Rs. 5,000 Ramadan Relief Package for 2025 to support low-income families during the holy month. This initiative is part of a broader Rs. 20 billion program aimed at alleviating financial burdens during Ramadan. ​

Key Features of the Rs. 5,000 Ramadan Relief Package:

  • Financial Assistance: Eligible families will receive a one-time cash grant of Rs. 5,000 to help cover essential expenses during Ramadan.​
  • Digital Disbursement: Funds will be distributed through digital wallets such as Easypaisa and JazzCash, ensuring a transparent and efficient process. ​

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the Rs. 5,000 relief package, applicants must:

  • Be Pakistani nationals.​
  • Belong to low-income families.​
  • Be registered under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) or the Ehsaas Programme.​
  • Possess a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).​
  • Have a mobile number registered in their name associated with a digital wallet.​
  • Not be receiving financial assistance from other government welfare programs.​
  • Have a poverty score below 32%.​
  • Priority is given to widows, disabled individuals, and daily laborers.

Registration Process:

Eligible individuals can register for the relief package through the following methods:

  1. SMS Registration:
    • Open the messaging app on your mobile phone.​
    • Type your 13-digit CNIC number without spaces.​
    • Send this message to 9999 using a SIM card registered in your name.​
    • Await a confirmation message regarding your eligibility.
  2. Online Registration:
    • Visit the official Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) website.​
    • Enter your CNIC number and other required details.​
    • Submit the application and wait for a confirmation message.

Disbursement of Funds:

  • Digital Wallets: Funds will be transferred directly to beneficiaries’ digital wallets, such as Easypaisa and JazzCash. ​
  • Bank Transfers: Beneficiaries can also receive funds through designated banks like HBL and Bank Alfalah.​
  • Collection Centers: For those without digital wallets or bank accounts, cash can be collected from designated centers after verification.

Important Dates:

  • The distribution of the Rs. 5,000 cash relief began in the first week of March 2025.

Additional Information:

  • The government has allocated Rs. 20 billion for this relief package, aiming to assist 4 million families across all provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • Beneficiaries are encouraged to ensure their digital wallets are active and their mobile numbers are registered in their names to facilitate smooth transactions.
